Your First Visit to Pinecrest Baptist Church
Visiting any church for the very first time can be a tough experience. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What's here for my children? What can I expect? These and probably many more questions surface. We want to put you at ease so that your first visit to Pinecrest is refreshing, friendly and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people and a place where you feel welcome and “at home!” We’ve prepared a few answers to questions you might have about what to expect on your first visit.
What's available for my children?
How will I find nurseries, classes and services?Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for every age child from birth through high-school!
At every service on Sunday morning, there are safe, clean and highly-staffed nurseries for children – newborn to age four. For the infants, mothers will receive a paging number so that the nursery attendants can easily contact you if there is a need.
For children five years old through sixth grade, there are fun, friendly and Bible-centered classes. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.
There are graded classes in our student ministries for Jr. and Sr. high school students, seventh through twelfth grade. Teens attend a small group and then the worship service with their parents.
Do you offer small groups or classes? We would like to help you find the appropriate nurseries, classes and services for every person in your family. Our CARE Team members are located around the building and at each entrance and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place. Each CARE Team member is easily identifiable by a CARE Team name tag.
Yes! At 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning, we have organized Adult Bible Fellowship Groups. These are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people, share needs in prayer and hear a teaching lesson more directly applicable to your life-stage. The best way to get to know people here at Pinecrest Baptist Church is to visit one of these Adult Bible Fellowship Groups.
How should I dress? On Sunday mornings, you can participate in encouraging and uplifting music, as well as enjoy inspiring music from soloists and special groups. The music is always followed by a clear, helpful and challenging Bible message from Pastor Mack. Each service is just a little over one hour in length.
Just before Pastor Mack brings the message, children ages four through sixth grade are dismissed to go to “Jr. Kids Church”, where they will participate in an age-appropriate service. Singing songs, playing Bible games and learning from God’s Word gives the children a fun and spiritual atmosphere at the same time the adults are in the morning worship service.
We also have Sunday evening services that begin at 6:00 p.m. Again, in this service you‘ll enjoy the special music and a challenging and helpful message from Pastor Mack. We also meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. for a mid-week Bible study. If you can‘t be our guest on Sunday morning, we hope you‘ll visit with us during another service time.
Am I expected to give in the offering? There is not a dress code at Pinecrest Baptist Church for members or guests. When attending, you’ll see people wearing a variety of styles – from casual to “Sunday best” or jeans to what is considered "business casual.” Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable anytime you visit Pinecrest!
What are service times at Pinecrest? No. We don't invite you to Pinecrest Baptist Church for your offering. We want each service to be our gift to you. We hope you will find a warm family spirit, truth preached from God's Word and a place where you can grow in God's grace. Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
